              The letter is from Charles Michie Smith to the Police Inspector, Periyakulam, asking to take some steps to prevent the recurrence of the troubles mentioned in the enclosed letter from the observer at Periyakulam; that letter with the name of people who own the buffaloes state the troubles caused by the trespassing buffaloes and hence requesting the Director to take action. The reply from the Inspector of Police says that he will take necessary action to avoid the recurrence. However, as the offense is non-cognizable, the paper may be forwarded to the Magistrate for necessary action.

              This letter was reply to D.O.No.2637 of the 6th instant saying that K.A.Narayana Aiyar acted as observer at Periyakulam were October 7, 1907 to January 31, 1908, new appointment was made to the post on April 7, 1908, Periyakulam Observatory, and he does'nt have a idea of what a "charge list".
