The letter is from the Periyakulam Observatory to The director of the Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories reporting handed/took over charge from A. P. Sub.. to K. Padmanabha Mudaliar. It encloses a list of instruments that were handed over, too.

This letter was reply to D.O.No.2637 of the 6th instant saying that K.A.Narayana Aiyar acted as observer at Periyakulam were October 7, 1907 to January 31, 1908, new appointment was made to the post on April 7, 1908, Periyakulam Observatory, and he does'nt have a idea of what a "charge list".
