The letter gives a report on the occurance of the earthquake from east to west at about 12:30 of 15th December 1898

This fonds consists of images from Sakunagiri, a conical mountain in the Malnad region of Chikmagalur. Here are images of viewpoints in Sakunagiri, a photograph of Mallik, Sanjaya Bhattachayya and Bhattachayya, a hill near Sakunagiri, and a view from Sakunagiri of a large lake.

The letter informs the government the occurance of the earthquake in Balakundi.

The fond contain correspondence regarding the proposal to build a General Hospital on the Spur Tank and 'Air blast' in the mines of Mysore.

The letter describes the slight shock observed at the last night of 5th December 1898
