            Part of Correspondance related to Magnetic Observatory during 1898-1923

            This letter is from W. J. Dunlop to the Executive Engineer informing that the domes etc belonging to the observatory building should be closed under machinery and the cost of such items should be deducted from the capital cost. Also a reply letter from the director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories Michie Smith questioning this is a very troublesome work and also he mentioned that this cannot be reached by any considerate of cost.

Three hundred fifty-three asked when the pump installation would start and requested completion by the next dry season.

P. Butler, Ag: Director, Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories to Executive Engineer Madura regarding some construction needs at the Solar Physics Observatory, like a permanent building to hold the 4-inch photoheliograph, a glazed verandah for keeping the north-western side of the observatory dry, an open verandah for the Bookbinder's shed and quarters for the writer of the observatory.

            This letter is from Sub-division officer Kodaikanal to executive Engineer Madura regarding repairs to the observatory buildings. It states that the inspection of the observatory building have come to the conclusion with consultation from the Director. It states the further changes to be made in regards to repairs.
