Narayana and Dr. Anil Kumar Das were the fourth and fifth directors of Kodaikanal Solar Observatory, one of the oldest observatories in India. The time period of the photograph needs to be found.

A map of Madras Observatory land in 1826 and a sketch of John Goldingham swinging Kater's pendulum hung in front of Haswell clock in the observatory.

The visit by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, and the visit by Indira Gandhi during the tenure of the Prime Minister and other ministers from Indian politics are preserved in the album. It also has photos of Prof. S. Chandrasekhar and Homi J. Bhabha's visit. Group photos of M. K. Vainu and his colleagues at the Kodaikanal Observatory are also preserved in the album.
