This letter shows the amounts paid for railway freight on Poona instruments. In this letter, the Director requests a reduction of the heavy charges that would be incurred getting the rest of the instruments from Periyakulam.

This letter was sent to the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras observatories from the consulting architect to the Govt. of Madras to sanction the plans and estimate submitted to the Govt. It was mentioned that glazed and batten windows had been provided for the transit house, as a wooden floor would be expensive so that the concrete floor would remain, and a small window had been added to the top of the anemometer tower.
