This item was about a supernova, an awesome explosion of a star, which occurred 186,000 years ago, was sighted by scientists from kavalur observatory. It is significant in that this is the first time it is known to have occurred in the large magellanic cloud.

The item was about the IIA astronomers detected an expanding disc or a shell of gas around the supernova 1987A in the large Magellanic cloud with a velocity of 650km per second.
