The item is letter from the Meteorological Department to the Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories, containing a copy of letter No.1286 from the Meteorological Reporter to the Government of India and Director General of Indian Observatories to the Director General of Stores, acknowledging Letter No.937 dated 19 Jan 1905 and saying that the Director of Kodaikanal Observatory is unable to send the details of the plates for the spectroheliograph until he has experimented with the plates, the information will be send as soon as it is available.

The letter was an enquiry with reference to the Photoheliograph which was received on loan from Greenwich Observatory, whether to return it or it may be completely dismantled and the parts used for other purposes in our research work.
