The second one states that the delay is due to difficulty in acquiring the materials and their transportation.

            The letter is from John Evershed, Director, Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories, to Dr. Royd's returning plan and estimate for reroofing the spectroheliograph building. Also saying about the roofing and steps to be done after sanction. He at last says Sitaraman and Krishna will return, & send the 6-inch telescope to Kodai, and his application for an extension till July may be approved but not yet sanctioned.
