Seven official letters pertaining to Gilbert T. Walker from 1903 to 1912 are included in the fond. This includes correspondence between Gilbert T. Walker and the Director of the Kodaikanal Observatory and the Meteorological Reporter to the Government of Madras.

Johannes Kepler's Astronomia Nova, published in 1609, was the oldest book available in the archives. It contains the results of Kepler's ten-year-long investigation of the motion of Mars. Where previous astronomers had relied on geometric models to explain the observed positions of the planets, Kepler discovered physical causes for planetary motion. Before Kepler, Nicolaus Copernicus proposed in 1543 that the Earth and other planets orbit the Sun. Kepler was the first astronomer to prove this conjecture with rigorous scientific arguments. This Volume has 336 pages and is in fairly good condition.

The Scientific Memories selection from the transactions of foreign and academics of science and learned societies is a collection taken from the foreign journals and edited by Richard Taylor. The fourth volume was published in 1846

This item was about the prizes that was given to the ten scientists who the UGC chose to receive the Hari Om Ashram Trust for 1977–1978. Named after exceptional Indian scientists, these prizes come with a Rs 10,000 cash reward apiece. M K V M. K. Vainu Bappu form IIA was also one of them.

This item was about nuclear astrophysics and one of its accomplished practitioners, Bhaskar Dutta of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, who passed away at the early age of fifty in Bangalore. The item also speaks of his remarkable achievements in nuclear physics. During his journey in the US for education and research and subsequent to his return from abroad, he started working in TIFR, followed by IIA, Bangalore.
