            The award letter was regarding the order of the Indian Empire Certificate by George the Fifth of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to John Evershed, Director of the Kodaikanal Observatory, Madras. Evershed was nominated and appointed to be the Ordinary Companion of the said Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire.

            This item was donated by Cherry Armstrong Great-Great Grand daughter of N.R.Pogson in 2006. We can see that Mr. Pogson was standing with Lucy Sylvia, An unknown Indian and Louise Camilla. Some small children were also seen in the photo seated infront, who probably be Charles Albion, Isis, and Robert Owen.
