The album contains photos taken during the visit of Prof. D. Sugimoto of the University of Tokyo in 1997 as a part of the India-Japan collaborative research program. It includes photographs of the presentation by Prof. D. Sugimoto and handing over the board to be installed in the GRAPE system, a parallel computing machine dedicated to galaxy simulations, to director R. Cowsik.

The album contains an original notice and photographs of the Indo-Chinese workshop on recent advances in solar physics on 7-11 November 2005 at IIA Bangalore campus. Photos of talks by experts from India and China, group photos of the participants, team lunch and dinner, and photos taken on the outing are preserved in this album. Some photos of the Indian Japan seminar on astrophysics and astronomy in 1995 can also be seen in the album.

The album contains photos of the presentations from Prof. D. Sugimoto of Tokyo University and other delegates and pictures of cultural programmes.
