In this memorandum the government had under consideration the question of constructing residential quarters for the officers of the Police Department and proposed the portion marked 'D' in the enclosed plan of the Madras Observatory

This memorandum was written from the superintending Engineer for submitting plans and estimate of Rs 21,300 for constructing quarters for the European Assistant to the Director

The letter is to the Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatory regarding the works done on the sliding roof and the effect of storms on it.

The order is from the Government of Madras to the chairman, the Municipal Council, Kodaikanal, approving the proposal to extend its limits to the observatory buildings and as for the objection from the Director regarding the water supply, the area will be exempted from paying the water tax proviso(b) to section 84 of the Madras District Municipalities Act, 1920.

The item contains a photograph related to the visit of Prof. Viktor Ambartsumian, a Soviet Armenian astrophysicist and science administrator, to the Kodaikanal Observatory during the directorship of Anil Kumar Das. The photo taken in front of the 20-inch dome of the observatory shows Prof. Viktor Ambartsumian, Anil Kumar Das, and the staff.

This item was about the photograph of granite pillar in meteorology department compound at Nungampakkam, Chennai as seen today. In the compound of the Meteorology Department in Chennai, there is a 15-foot tall granite pillar weighing 10 tons. This granite pillar is part of the Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai and is preserved as a monument. This is the place where Madras Observatory was existed.

This item was about the map of part of the environs of Madras showing the relative positions of the Observatory house station and the guns. This map was made by J.Goldingham who was F.R.S. in Madras Observatory and the map was published in Madras Observatory papers in 1826 on page no. 177.
