            This is a letter from The Director Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories to the executive engineer Madura division regarding the municipal water and drainage tax previously sent. In this letter he states that there is no previous records on the subject regarding the taxes. The amount was settled between the director of Kodaikanal Observatory and the executive engineer without any documentation. It also states that he was unaware of the need for certificate from the executive engineer. The letter also states that the amount of house tax paid since April 1,1908 WAS .
