A thanksgiving letter to Simpson for the data of a) Black bulb for the year, b) minimum on rass for year, c) sunshine January to April

The fond contain correspondence regarding the Astronomical Observatory at Lahore. The letter is from the Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories to the Registrar, Panjab University, Lahore, giving suggestions for the proposed Astronomical Observatory to be built in Lahore. The letter has suggestions about transit instruments and a 7-inch equatorial telescope. A sketch of the roofing complex is also attached.

The fond contains correspondence related to the Periyakulam Observatory.

The letter is to the Executive Engineer enquiring whether there is an objection to building some meteorological building in the compound and proposing to the Govt. of India to build a house for the observer. The letter to the superintendent of the workshop was regarding providing materials to build a machine for the observatory. The letter to the pension superintendent asked for two pensioners to work as peons with pay of Rs.10/- each with quarters & warm clothing. The letter also mentions that people should be fit for the climate.

The title "Les Observatoires Astronomiques" can be translated to Astronomical Observatories. This book consists of astronomical observations from the Royal Observatory of Belgium. It is written by P.Stroobant, E .Delporte, J. Delvosal and F. Moreau, and H. L. Vanderlinden. It is published in 1836

This is a letter from A.Vipan, executive engineer Madura division to the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories regarding estimates. It contains 13 estimates with duplicate copies of the last three special repair estimates.

The letter is from C. J. Ussher, Superintending Engineer VI th circle, Trichinopoly, to the director of Kodaikanal and Madras observatories. The letter is enclosed with two estimates, namely estimates for the construction of the glazed verandah by the side of the spectrograph and the construction of a porch in front of the large doorway of the laboratory room. He also asks whether the porch is necessary.

The letter is from C. V. Ramam, Raman Research Institute to M. K. Vainu Bappu, Nizamiah Observatory acknowledging his letter on 26 March 1954 and saying he has a suitable location for solar physics observatory on the institution grounds. The letter also ask to let know presen address of Zeiss and Cox.

The letter is from Charles P. Butler Ag: Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories to the Executive Engineer, Madura, requesting to supply a set of stones mentioned in the letter for the use of the assistants and peons of the Kodaikanal and Periyakulam Observatories.
