Royds, ThomasThe fond contain correspondence regarding the Astronomical Observatory at Lahore. The letter is from the Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories to the Registrar, Panjab University, Lahore, giving suggestions for the proposed Astronomical Observatory to be built in Lahore. The letter has suggestions about transit instruments and a 7-inch equatorial telescope. A sketch of the roofing complex is also attached.

Periyakulam Meteorological ObservatoryThe letter is to the Executive Engineer enquiring whether there is an objection to building some meteorological building in the compound and proposing to the Govt. of India to build a house for the observer. The letter to the superintendent of the workshop was regarding providing materials to build a machine for the observatory. The letter to the pension superintendent asked for two pensioners to work as peons with pay of Rs.10/- each with quarters & warm clothing. The letter also mentions that people should be fit for the climate.
