The letter is from Otto Struve, Berkeley Astronomical Department to Dr. V. Bappu, Mount Wilson and Palomar Observatories asking to discuss with Dr. Merrill about Pleione if possble and also asking if he will be intrested to rad the papers by Dr. S. Miyamoto of Kyoto University.

The letter is from I. S. Bowen, Director, Mount Wilson and Palomar Observatories to M. K. Vainu Bappu, Harvard College Observatory, Cambridge informing that Dr. Vannevar Bush, President of the institution, has approved his appointment as a fellow of the Carnegie Institution of Washington for a period of one year with a grant of $3000.

This letter was a reply note of June 29 of M. K. Bappu father of M.K.Vainu Bappu about the indebtedness of both to Mr.Campbell. Further, Harlow Shapley mentioned his enjoyment with M.K.Bappu and his wife with their son in America. Shapley mentioned that probably you have heard that if your son had not gone to Mount Wilson we would have offered him a half-year lectureship in the Harvard University.
