            The document is a letter from Charles P. Butler to Gilbert T. Walker, the Meteorological Reporter to the Government of India and Director General of Indian Observatories, Calcutta, in 1903. The document conveys that the Kodaikanal Observatory had received the case containing eight thermometers and one rain glass for five gauges that the meteorological department had delivered.
