Ragoonatha Chary, C.This item was about the total solar eclipse that occurred on 11 June 1983 in Indonesia. In photos of the event, the Sun appears to be entirely covered by the shadow of the Moon, with only the Sun' corona visible as a bright golden ring.
Indian Institute of AstrophysicsThis item was about the total solar eclipse that occurred on 7 March, 1970. The resulting photograph shows the Sun completely covered by the Moon, with only the corona visible and, which was captured by the camera.
Indian Institute of AstrophysicsThis item was about the measurements of spectrum and solar spots. It is divided into two parts. The first part describes the scale division of the spectroscope micrometer that defines the bright lines observed in the spectrum of the southeast by east prominence and the ordinary lines in the solar spectrum that were measured before and after the eclipse. The second part includes a sketch depicting the principal solar spots measured at Masulipatnam on August 18, 1868. The sketch shows four spots: A, B, C, and D.
Pogson, Norman RobertThis item was about the total solar eclipse that occurred on 16 February 1980. In this photograph, we can see that only the Sun's corona is visible to us and captured.
Indian Institute of AstrophysicsThis proceedings was concerns about the photographs of an eclipse and the communication between Meteorological reporter to the government of India.
Smith, Charles MichieThis fond contains collection of items that provide information about solar eclipses that occurred during the time period of 1868-2006. The collection includes photographs of total solar eclipses that took place on different dates, and covered from different places as well as sketches that help to illustrate the phenomenon and the path of the eclipses.
Indian Institute of AstrophysicsThe photographic slides contain some images of Pogson's transit, Madras Observatory, Osmania University, Goldmigham, K D Naegamvala, Uranus painting(1977), the post-war development committee(1945), etc.
Indian Institute of AstrophysicsThis item was about the sketch of the path of a total solar eclipse that occurred in India in 1868. It depicts the Peninsula of India and shows the track of the Moon's shadow during the eclipse on August 17, 1868. The sketch was created by V.T. & A.K. Johnston in Edinburgh and includes scalar measurements at the bottom.
