This is Reply letter to U.O. No. 1921 of 3rd May to the Director General of Observatories from John Evershed about a suggestion of exposing of Grass Minimum thermometer at the highest point of hill away from trees or bushes.

And the partial allotment of funds at the request of the Director General of Observatories.

The letter was from Thomas Royds, Assistant Director of Observatory, Kodaikanal to G.C. Simpson, the Imperial Meteorologist, Simla. Through this document, Thomas Royds conveyed a new method for taking the mean wind directions in this letter. The document was written in 1914 from Solar Physics Observatory, Kodaikanal.
