This fonds contains photographic slides from a space science seminar in 1965. An image of S.S. Kumar and Zwestha, an image of Shelton Clock, and a few other images were also there.

The collection includes photographs of total solar eclipses that took place on different dates, and covered from different places as well as sketches that help to illustrate the phenomenon and the path of the eclipses.

This item was an instrument used for measuring the intensity of a light source. It uses a light-sensing device that is calibrated to express intensity in a standard unit. Some optical elements such as lens etc. are also employed to incerase the sensitivity of the instrument.

The album includes documents on the results of astronomical observations and photographs related to the Madras Observatory. A copy of the first observation made at the Madras Observatory and a page from Madras M. S. record is preserved with photos of the Madras Observatory, Shelton clock and granite slab with Latin inscription at Madras Observatory. A map of Madras Observatory land in 1826 and a sketch of John Goldingham swinging Kater's pendulum hung in front of Haswell clock in the observatory.

The album contains photos related to the Solar Physics Observatory at Kodaikanal during Dr Anil Kumar Das's directorship. It was established in 1899 as a Solar Physics Observatory, and all the activities of the Madras Observatory were shifted to Kodaikanal. The photographs in this album illuminate the critical events in the history of the Kodaikanal Observatory from 1946 to 1955. The visit of eminent scientists and astronomers, official meetings and conferences, celebrations, and farewells and staff of the observatory during the period can be seen in the album.

It mainly includes an old photo of the Madras Observatory, a photocopy of the first observation taken in 1786 from the observatory, two pictures of Kater's pendulum hung in front of the Haswell clock in the observatory, a sketch of the Madras Observatory building from 1848 Taylor's catalogue and painting of Madras coast by Daniel.

Images of C. R. Ragunathachary, who worked with Norman Robert Pogson, can be seen in this album. Some photos are related to his private observatory, Hartwell House, in England.

Images of the Madras Observatory and Kodaikanal Observatory, as well as photos of Pogsons's Grave and brass plaque at St. George's Cathedral, Madras, are also archived in this album. In addition, copies of the critical astronomical observations undertaken by N. R. Pogson. A copy of the catalogue for the observation of the minor planet 'Asia', a hand-painted solar spectrum of the total Solar Eclipse in 1868, a copy of the title page of observations of the fixed stars made with the meridian circle and a title page of variable star catalogue. The photographs in this album were collected and presented to Ms. Cherry Amstrong, the great-great-granddaughter of Norman Robert Pogson, during her visit to the Kodaikanal Observatory on 16th February 2006.

The album contains photographs of an exhibition conducted during the bicentennial of Madras Observatory at IIA campus on December 6, 1986. It can be seen that hundreds of photos and astronomical equipment showcasing the history of 200 years were displayed by the library team for the public.
