              This letter was issued from the Department of Revenue and Agriculture (Meteo.), The Government of India agreed with the proposal of closing the Maharaja Takhtasingji Observatory at Poona, and the instruments would be shifted to the Solar Physics Observatory at Kodaikanal. The Director General of Observatories asked Mr Evershed to be present at Poona during the dismantling of the telescopes and also to send the 'enlarging apparatus and spectrum microscope' to Kodaikanal if its removal doesn't interfere with the working of Poona Observatory before abolition.

              This letter was written by L. Robertson, Esquire, I.C.S., Secretary to Government to the Secretary to the Government of India, Department of Revenue and Agriculture, requesting the opinion of the Government of Bombay as to whether the Maharaja Takhtsingji Observatory at Poona should not be abolished on the retirement of Professor Naegamvala and as to whether the instruments etc. might not be removed to the observatory at Kodaikanal. He forwarded a list of principal instruments at the Poona Observatory and said the Maharaja of Bhavnagar accepted the above understanding.

              This letter was sent to the stationmaster from John Evershed, mentioning that he is sending 25 cases through his peon Govindaswamy. He had mentioned to bookcases 1 to 4 carriage to forward at the Company's risk to Srinagar. Also, he enclosed a cheque for Rs. 60 and mentioned the balance also would be paid in cash by the peon.

              This letter is to the Superintendent of Telegraphs from the Director regarding the condition of affairs Mr Newlands found at Lahore. It is evidence that the officer in charge of the Lahore office and not the time distribution system should be blamed.

              This letter was sent to the Superintendent of Telegraphs, Trichinopoly, requesting to enquire into signalling the telegraph line at Kodaikanal from the Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatory. He told to arrange the battery at the post office, maintaining sufficient current strength for signalling purposes as soon as possible.
