              This letter is from John Evershed, the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories, to the District Traffic Superintendent regarding the shipment of a valuable lens from Kodaikanal Road station to Begumpet, Hyderabad. he wanted to insure it for Rs. 1000 and not to incur any risk by having the case opened by understanding that the Railway Company would be responsible only for delivery in apparently good condition and not for the condition of its contents.
