This letter was about the views of Walker on the report of the Observatories Committes saying that the relations between Kodaikanal and Kensington and the letter received from Lockyer about sending of spectroheliograms.

This letter explained on Observatories Committee recommendation that sunspot spectra should be photographed in the first place and that visual observations were to be secondary in the year 1895 or at any rate before 1901. Since he could not find an original document on the subject, he has requested to provide the copy of the recommendations previous to 1901.
