This letter was from the Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatory informing about the erection of new buildings for Poona instruments and outside painting of Observatory Domes, the Spectroheliograph building and the magnetic observatory.

This letter to the Superintending Engineer from the Director mentioning the return of the estimates for the painting the two domes of main building countersigned and also he noted that He had substituted "Lead white paint" instead of "Zinc white paint". He also mentioned about returning the estimate for painting of the spectroheliograph roof unsigned as that is unnecessary and only painting of sliding roof only of the spectroheliograph building may be taken up.

This letter to the Sub-Division Officer from the Director requesting to arrange for the repair of painting of three domes and closing leaks in the office buildings. It was specifically mentioned that painting is badly needed as they have not been painted since 1915.

This letter to the Executive Engineer of Madura from the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories for consulting architect to the Government of Madras to furnish the original dorms but he lent it to the sub divisional officer when he was preparing plans for the new domes and also he mentioned it was not like several other plans lent been returned to him.

This letter was written to Gilbert Thomas Walker, the Director General of Observatories from Secretary to Government, Bombay Castle, Educational Department, in reply to the letter regarding removing the revolving dome of Poona Observatory to Kodaikanal. In this letter, it was stated a plan and estimate for another roof for the observatory building.

This letter is from W. J. Dunlop to the Executive Engineer informing that the domes etc belonging to the observatory building should be closed under machinery and the cost of such items should be deducted from the capital cost. Also a reply letter from the director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories Michie Smith questioning this is a very troublesome work and also he mentioned that this cannot be reached by any considerate of cost.

The letter is from the Director, Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories, to the Consulting Architect to the Government of India, saying that the design of the dome should be of Sir Howard Grubb's standard design.

This letter is written to Mr. Field regarding the removal of the revolving dome of the 20-inch telescope and the sending of the instruments and apparatus to Kodaikanal. The letter also asks to send some microscopes to attach to the barometers in Kodaikanal, if there are any spare ones.

The letter is from Gilbert T Walker, Meteorological Reporter to the Government of India and Director-General of Indian Observatories to the Director, Solar Physics Observatory replying to letter No. 526 of 24 Sep 1904 and returning the plans and estimate of Rs.6300- for new dome of photoheliograph it also say about other modification mentioned in the previous letter.
