              The letter is from C. Mildred, Superintending Engineer, VI Circle, Trichinopoly, to The Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories with reference to The Director's letter to the Sub-Divisional Officer. He has sent three estimates, of which 2 to be returned countersigned and one is to be forwarded to the Government for sanction. The estimates are for the verandah in front of the spectroheliograph building and repairs to the main building.

              The letter is from C. J. Ussher, Superintending Engineer VI th circle, Trichinopoly, to the director of Kodaikanal and Madras observatories. The letter is enclosed with two estimates, namely estimates for the construction of the glazed verandah by the side of the spectrograph and the construction of a porch in front of the large doorway of the laboratory room. He also asks whether the porch is necessary.
