              This letter was sent to the Controller of India Treasuries, Calcutta, from the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories owing to the confusion of the "Special charges" for examination of the condition in Kashmir for solar work. And also he attached a detailed list of information and necessary corrections in the body of the previous bills.

              This letter was sent to the Deputy Director of Madras Observatory stating that he has no objections to the Director's proposal to renew the telegraph instrument at the Marine Office. And the budget contains the sum of only Rs 50 for the purchase and repairing the instruments.

              This letter to the Director from H.S. Northey Esquire informing that no such building as the "Solar Physics Observatory" occurs in the register of Public Buildings in charge of PWD and also requested to let him know the correct name of the building. From the records of this office it appeared no certificates for Municipal taxes paid by him for the two buildings referred to in his letter had been granted by this Department in Previous years.
