              This is a Letter from L.D Swamikannu Pillai to the director of the solar physics observatory regarding a strange sound produced at Seetharampuram Udayagiri taluk. It is reply stating that an eye sketch of the locality is submitted and mentions some of the villages where the sound is reported. It also states that the sound is loudest at Pandranga, Narayanpet and Seetharampuram.

              This is a Letter from L.D Swamikannu Pillai to the director of the solar physics observatory regarding a strange sound produced at Seetharampuram Udayagiri taluk. It also forwards a copy of the report from the tahsildar. This item also contains a reply to the query from the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories stating that the strange sounds may be produced underground and may be of the same nature as the sounds heard in the Ganges. The reply also points out that if any reports are available from the surrounding villages to determine from which place is the sound loudest.
