The album contains photos and observations related to Norman Robert Pogson, an English astronomer who worked in India at the Madras Observatory as a Government astronomer from 1861 to 1891. He undertook observations of comets and found numerous minor planets. The album starts with a photograph of Norman Robert Pogson, who had signed it himself. Images of the Madras Observatory and Kodaikanal Observatory, as well as photos of Pogsons's Grave and brass plaque at St. George's Cathedral, Madras, are also archived in this album. In addition, copies of the critical astronomical observations undertaken by N. R. Pogson. A copy of the catalogue for the observation of the minor planet 'Asia', a hand-painted solar spectrum of the total Solar Eclipse in 1868, a copy of the title page of observations of the fixed stars made with the meridian circle and a title page of variable star catalogue. The photographs in this album were collected and presented to Ms. Cherry Amstrong, the great-great-granddaughter of Norman Robert Pogson, during her visit to the Kodaikanal Observatory on 16th February 2006.

The album comprises around 200 photographs categorized under two events. The first event was the visit of a committee of Members of Parliament on paper laid on the table; Rajya Sabha Members visited the institute and its laboratories on 15th July 1994. The second event was the visit of MP to the Kodaikanal campus in 1992.

The album contains images of famous figures from politics, science, and related sectors visiting the Kodaikanal Observatory. The visit by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, and the visit by Indira Gandhi during the tenure of the Prime Minister and other ministers from Indian politics are preserved in the album. It also has photos of Prof. S. Chandrasekhar and Homi J. Bhabha's visit. Group photos of M. K. Vainu and his colleagues at the Kodaikanal Observatory are also preserved in the album.

The album contains photos related to the visit of Cherry, great great granddaughter of Norman Robert Pogson, Government astronomer of Madras Observatory in 1860's to the Kodaikanal campus in 2006.

This fonds comprises photographic slides showcasing various snake parks. The images offer a glimpse into different aspects of these parks, including a cobra snake park in 1971, a presentation on Russel's viper snake park, another snapshot from a cobra snake park in 1977, and a depiction of the intriguing saw-scaled viper.

The item is related to the visit of Prof. Sydney Chapman to the Kodaikanal Solar Physics Observatory on 1948 December 31. Sydney Chapman was a British mathematician and geophysicist who contributed to the kinetic theory of gases, solar-terrestrial physics, and the Earth's ozone layer. The photo shows Prof. Chapman and Dr. Anil Kumar Das, the observatory's director, sitting with the other staff. The visit of Prof. Chapman was a noteworthy feature of that year.

The item is a black and white photograph of Prof. Meghnad Saha's visit to the Kodaikanal Observatory in 1945. He was a member of the planning commission set up in 1937, and he is an Indian astrophysicist who is remembered for his theory of thermal ionization.
