This office memorandum was sent from the India Meteorological Department to John Evershed about the difficulty in getting the press to set up correctly the type of Seismic records.

The letter was written by E. C. J. Bond who was the officer in-charge No. 18 party (Magnetic), Survey of India to the Director of the Madras and Kodaiknal Observatories, Kodaikanal. He was asking the director to set up the necessary procedures to collect various deflections from the magnetograph in Kodaikanal, including visual and photographic deflections.

This order was from the Superintendent Engineer to transfer funds sanctioned under 45 Imperial Civil to the Director of Kodaikanal Observatory.

The item provides information about the king's message on the peace treaty signing in 1919. This formal act brings to its concluding stages the terrible war that devastated Europe and distressed the World.
