Madras M.S. Records was an important handwritten document maintained by M. Topping (1789-1796) and J. Goldingham (1796-1805), who were early astronomers of the Madras Observatory. The establishment of the Madras Observatory in 1786 was mentioned in this record.

This was a handwritten record of observations made at the Madras Observatory by J. Goldingham (1796- 1805). It records the correspondent eclipses of the first and second satellites of Jupiter at the Madras Observatory and of Musalipatam, which were determined by timing immersions and the emersions of the first and second Satellites of Jupiter. The record consists of 163 pages and is not in good condition.

This document consists of proceedings of the board of revenue requesting to arrange for the supply of two differential forest rain gauges and to forward a memo of the charges.

This item was about the image of a section of the main building IIA campus viewed from the hutment building. In which we can see that their is a bike and cycle are standing in infront of building.

Astronomical Observations Madras, 1792-94 was known as the "Annual Report of 1792". The manuscript volume was divided into three parts. The first part gives a detailed description of the observatory building supplemented with 12 hand-coloured figures of the various sections of the building. Figure 1 is the picture of the Madras Observatory. Parts 2 and 3 record the observations taken for the years 1793 and 1794, respectively.

The fonds contain circulars and letters from the Meteorological Department, Government of India.

All letters were related to Poona and Kodaikanal & Madras Observatory. In this fond, there are a total of 37 items.
