            The item was a petition submitted by P. R. Chidambara Ayer to The Secretary to the Government of India, Revenue and Agricultural Department, about his salary. The facts of the case have been stated very clearly in the petition. The letter was sent to The Director General of Observatories and the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories in 1920.

            This item was about the history of the Kodaikanal Observatory and the events that took place during its 100-year completion celebration. The observatory was established in 1899 as a Solar Physics Observatory and was the new home for all the activities of the Madras Observatory.

            This item was about the inugural speech given by PM in the 19th general meeting assembly of international Astronomical Unit. In his speech, the PM highlighted that political barriers should not hinder scientific ties. The PM also released a commemorative stamp depicting Halley's comet. The conference had participation from 1400 astronomers from all over the world, including 300 from India. The special topics of discussion were radio astronomy, cosmology, supernova, and evolution in galaxies.
