The album contains photos related to the conference held in IIA Bangalore campus in 2009 organized by IIA library on sharing the e-journal through consortia in Indian libraries. The album includes pictures of delegates from different libraries in India and abroad.

The album contains photographs taken during the unveiling ceremony of the bicentennial plaque at IIA Bangalore campus on 06 January 1987. The bicentennial plaque was unveiled by Prof M. G. K. Menon, former chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), to commemorate the bicentennial of the setting up an observatory at Madras by Wiliam Petrie in 1786 to which the Indian Institute of Astrophysics traces the origin.

The album contains photographs of an exhibition conducted during the bicentennial of Madras Observatory at IIA campus on December 6, 1986. It can be seen that hundreds of photos and astronomical equipment showcasing the history of 200 years were displayed by the library team for the public.

The album consists of photos related to the visit of Prof. S. Chandrasekhar, who shared the 1983 Nobel Prize for physics with William A. Fowler for theoretical studies of the physical processes of importance to the structure and evolution of the stars. He visited the IIA Bangalore campus on 11 January 1993 with his wife, Lalitha Chandrasekhar. The album includes photos of lectures and meetings, as well as the photos of Prof Chandrasekhar and his wife at IIA.

The album contains photos of the initial stages of the Kavalur Observatory campus. Photographs of Director M. K. Vainu Bappu's visit to Kavalur for site inspection and selection for the setting up of the observatory building and workshop. Photos from the construction of 40-inch and 90-inch telescopes, images of albuminization of the 40-inch telescope and the instruments of the telescope can be seen in this album.

The album contains photos taken during the visit of Prof. D. Sugimoto of the University of Tokyo in 1997 as a part of the India-Japan collaborative research program.
