This is a letter from Antoine Rene deChazal,executive Engineer Madura division to the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories honouring that the sum of Rs.1000-1500 should be entered into the budget for annual repairs to the observatory buildings, on the grounds of repair of roads,fencing and other things connected with the grounds. It also included other repair works including the renewal of glasses and matting, painting white-washing and other petty repairs.
