              The letter is from E. J. B. Greenwood, Electric Inspector to the Government of Madras to The Superintending Engineer informing about the inspection of electrical installation at Kodaikanal Observatory on May 13, 1913, and giving the report. He reports about the non-insulated wires, engine room water connection, bad condition of the pump motor, battery room, and the desk type of 220 volts should be 110 volts only.

              The letter is from Charles Michie Smith to the Police Inspector, Periyakulam, asking to take some steps to prevent the recurrence of the troubles mentioned in the enclosed letter from the observer at Periyakulam; that letter with the name of people who own the buffaloes state the troubles caused by the trespassing buffaloes and hence requesting the Director to take action. The reply from the Inspector of Police says that he will take necessary action to avoid the recurrence. However, as the offense is non-cognizable, the paper may be forwarded to the Magistrate for necessary action.
