This is the reprinted edition of the “Transit of Venus” original pamphlet published in 1874 by C.Ragoonath Chary. IIA library has redesigned the cover page and added the foreword by Prof.S.S.Hasan, Director, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore and brought out the pamphlet before the world wide event of Transit of Venus on 6th June 2012 and published under IIA Archives Publication Series.

It was published in 1834. It contains mathematical and scientific explanations of various phenomena related to celestial bodies and their movements. The book covers topics such as the orbits of planets, perturbations caused by gravitational influences, calculations of constants and coefficients, expressions for perturbing forces, and equations for determining the elements of orbits.

The title of the book " Theoric analytique du system du Monde" translates to " Analytical Theory of the World System ". There are two volumes of this book. The first volume has seven chapters, and the second volume consists of 9 chapters. This book was written by G De Pontecoulant and published in 1829.
