Part of Correspondence related to Spectroheliograph's roofing during 1907-1923

The letter is from The Director, Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories, to The Sub-Division Officer, Kodaikanal, saying that the roof of the spectroheliograph building, main building, and anemometer tower have leaked and caused much damage during wet weather. He also says to provide an estimate for covering the spectroheliograph building with the best quality malthoid sheeting, the main building with "Armco" iron sheeting, and stoppage of all leaks in the roof of the anemometer tower.

This letter to the Sub-Division Officer from the Director requesting to arrange for the repair of painting of three domes and closing leaks in the office buildings. It was specifically mentioned that painting is badly needed as they have not been painted since 1915.

This letter was sent to the Stationmaster requesting accommodation for Mr. & Mrs. Evershed and Mrs. Orr. in the Ceylon Boat Mail from Kodaikanal. And also asked to provide about 20 to 25 maunds of total excess luggage.

He had mentioned to bookcases 1 to 4 carriage to forward at the Company's risk to Srinagar. Also, he enclosed a cheque for Rs. 60 and mentioned the balance also would be paid in cash by the peon.
