The program was for two days and focussed on preserving the history of scientific organizations in the country. Eminent personalities of institutes from different parts of India presented their papers, and more than 100 participants participated in the workshop.

The first event was the visit of a committee of Members of Parliament on paper laid on the table; Rajya Sabha Members visited the institute and its laboratories on 15th July 1994. The second event was the visit of MP to the Kodaikanal campus in 1992.
