During that period, he also served as the 2nd Assistant of the Observatory for more than one year. The memo was about the approval of the allowance provided to A. A. Narayana Ayyar for the service as 2nd Assistant. The exact dates during which he acted as the 2nd Assistant of the Observatory are also mentioned in the document.

The order was related to granting leaves to R. Ll. Jones for 11 months and ten days. R. Ll. Jones was working as the Meteorologist at Madras and Deputy Director of the Madras Observatory.

The order is from the Government of Madras to the chairman, the Municipal Council, Kodaikanal, approving the proposal to extend its limits to the observatory buildings and as for the objection from the Director regarding the water supply, the area will be exempted from paying the water tax proviso(b) to section 84 of the Madras District Municipalities Act, 1920.

This item was a order of the extension of leave granted by His Majesty's Secretary of State for India extension of leave or permission to return to duty as advised in list dated the 13th October 1920

The award letter was regarding the order of the Indian Empire Certificate by George the Fifth of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to John Evershed, Director of the Kodaikanal Observatory, Madras. Evershed was nominated and appointed to be the Ordinary Companion of the said Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire.

This item was donated by Cherry Armstrong Great-Great Grand daughter of N.R.Pogson in 2006. We can see that Mr. Pogson was standing with Lucy Sylvia, An unknown Indian and Louise Camilla. Some small children were also seen in the photo seated infront, who probably be Charles Albion, Isis, and Robert Owen.

This item was about the Padma Bhushan Award honoured to M.K.Vainu Bappu on 28-03-1981. The Padma Bhushan is the third-highest civilian award in India. It is awarded for "distinguished service of a high order". The award was established on January 2, 1954.
