It is stated that copies of the order were sent to the directors of the Kodaikanal and Madras observatories as well as the director general of observatories.

The order dealt with extending the leave granted to R. Ll. Jones for 11 months and ten days. R. Ll. Jones was working as the Meteorologist at Madras and Deputy Director of the Madras Observatory.
