The album contains photos related to the Solar Physics Observatory at Kodaikanal during Dr Anil Kumar Das's directorship. It was established in 1899 as a Solar Physics Observatory, and all the activities of the Madras Observatory were shifted to Kodaikanal. The photographs in this album illuminate the critical events in the history of the Kodaikanal Observatory from 1946 to 1955.
