This item was about the death of a retired astronomer Prof Harlan Simth. Prof Harlan Smith, who headed UT's Observatory and McDonald Observatory and served as the Chairman of the University of Texas Astronomy Department, played a significant role in the field of astronomy and astrophysics. He was a true hero of education and astronomy, as he could explain almost every aspect of science in a way that even non-scientists could understand.
