The album contains photos taken during the lunar eclipse observation on 16th July 2000. The photographs show different phases of the lunar eclipse, from the partial to full moon.

The album contains photos of the observation camp for capturing the transit of Venus at IIA Bangalore campus in 2004. The transit of Venus in 2004 was a significant astronomical event in history because it was the first Venus transit after the invention of broadcast media. The photos of the transit of Venus, school students observing the event, setting up the observational ground, and presentations by astronomers of IIA can be seen in the album.

Images of local streets, markets, buildings, and monasteries are preserved, along with pictures of the natives and performances of their local art forms. The album is enough to give a holistic idea about the life of Leh and Ladakhh during the 1990s.

The album contains photos taken during the observation of the solar eclipse in 1996 at the Hanle site by the IIA team led by Director R. Cowsik. The observation was taken from an IAF (Indian Air Force) aircraft. The album includes photos of inside and outside views of aircraft and an aerial view of the land from the craft. In addition to that, photos of Air Marshal Bijoy Krishna Pandey with R. Cowsik and photos of other Air Force officers who helped the IIA team are archived in this album.

The album contains photos of the visit to sites and dinner hosted by the former director R. Cowsik for Mr Girish Chandra Saxena, the seventh Governor of Jammu and Kashmir at Leh. In addition, photos of natives of Ladakh, a welcome meeting for the Governor, and photos of IIA delegates with the Governor are preserved in this album. The event occurred in October 1997.

The Indian Astronomical Observatory (IAO) is a high-altitude astronomy station in Hanle, India, operated by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics. Photos related to the site, natives of Ladakh, construction of the observatory, and some paintings are preserved in this album.
