This letter was about Council of the American Astronomical Society, in session at its 160th meeting voted you an Honorary Member of the AAS. Further, Arlo U. Landolt requested Dr.M. K. Vainu Bappu to join with small group of internationally distinguished astronomers and entitled to all the privileges of the Society.
