Report of the Director General of Observatories on the Observatories of Kodaikanal, Madras, Bombay and Alibag written by Gilbert T. Walker

This letter was written to the Executive Engineer, Madura Special Division, about the allotment of funds to the Madras P.W.D. that would be made by the Imperial General of Observatories for some building works. And the partial allotment of funds at the request of the Director General of Observatories.

Here, he mentioned some changes to be made in the inscription, especially there should not be a comma after Sir and asked about the person responsible for the draft so the required changes can be informed.

The letter to the Director of Kodaikanal Observatory informs that the insurance for the articles is 4 per cent for 100 miles, and hence the charge is Rs. 89.

This letter was forwarded to Thomas Royds and A. Hilger for arrangements for parcels by John Evershed to the Poona Observatory. It was mentioned that this bill of cost payment should be delivered before the end of the first financial year.
