              This letter corresponds to a bill payment for Re.1-10-0 regarding the cost of the supply arrangements to Maharaja Takhatsingji Observatory through a telegram to the Director of the Poona Observatory from The Madras Observatory. It says that the telegram for sending to Poona cannot be paid to the Madras Observatory, as stated in article 1337 of Civil Accounts Cods, Vol II. So the Governor in Council has authorized the Accountant-General, Bombay, to arrange for its settlement in direct communication with the Accountant-General, Madras.

              This letter is an extract from U.O. to the government of India, Meteorological Department, on 11th November 1911 regarding dismantling the telescopes and their packing for transit from Poona observatory to Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories by the then Director J. Evershed. In this letter, it was mentioned that the telescopes should be handled with great care, and it was also said that J. Evershed or his deputy should control the packaging by visiting Poona. John Evershed also replied, agreeing with this letter.
