            This item was about the investigation conducted by Society, they have found a possible relationship between C V Raman and S Chandrasekhar. According to their findings, S Chandrasekhar, who recently won the Nobel Prize, was a nephew of Sir C V Raman.             This item was about the Prof K S Krishnan's journey from a rural background to becoming a renowned scientist and sharing the Nobel Prize with his mentor, Dr. C V Raman, is truly inspiring. Born on December 4, 1898, in the village of Watrap in Tamilnadu's Tirunelveli district, Krishnan moved to Madurai after matriculation and was drawn to the scientific work of C V Raman. Krishnan then went to Calcutta to work as a research associate under Raman and made significant discoveries in optical physics that led to the discovery of the Raman effect.

            The item is letter from the Meteorological Department to the Director of Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories, containing a copy of letter No.1286 from the Meteorological Reporter to the Government of India and Director General of Indian Observatories to the Director General of Stores, acknowledging Letter No.937 dated 19 Jan 1905 and saying that the Director of Kodaikanal Observatory is unable to send the details of the plates for the spectroheliograph until he has experimented with the plates, the information will be send as soon as it is available.
