              This is a letter from H. L. Nicholson executive Engineer Madura to The Director of Kodaikanal Observatory on municipal water and drainage tax on Kodaikanal Observatory building. It states that Rs.120 per annum assessed on the observatory building is less than the assessed amount in the usual percentage on the capital cost of the buildings and it also addresses the issue of separating the part inside from the part outside the municipality.

              Parte de Correspondence regarding the water pump and pump house in Kodaikanal during 1919-1920

              The letter was written by Gilbert T. Walker to the Director of Kodaikanal and Madras Observatories, approving the estimates of Rs.1075 and Rs.340 for the new pump and alterations in the pump house. He also mentions that the Local Government will allot the funds from the provision made in their budget for Imperial Works.

              This letter was sent to the Secretary of the government public works department in Madras by Charles Michie Smith, the director of the Madras and Kodaikanal Observatory. The purpose of this letter is to formally request government approval for the plans and estimates associated with the construction of buildings, as initially sanctioned in the letter received from G.J.J. Harris. Director Smith requests formal approval for the suggested architectural and budgetary plans presented by G.J.J. Harris.

              This is a letter from Charles. P. Butler, Ag: Director, Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories to Superintending Engineer, VIth Circle, Trichinopoly, replying to the letter asking for the opinion on the necessity of construction of glazed verandah and porch. The letter says the construction was requested before his arrival, and it is not advisable for him to express the opinion in the absence of the Director. Also, he requests that the walls on the Southwestern sides be made waterproof as the rain makes the room moist, which is harmful to the scientific instruments.

P. Butler, Ag: Director, Kodaikanal & Madras Observatories to Executive Engineer Madura regarding some construction needs at the Solar Physics Observatory, like a permanent building to hold the 4-inch photoheliograph, a glazed verandah for keeping the north-western side of the observatory dry, an open verandah for the Bookbinder's shed and quarters for the writer of the observatory.
